This group of records includes two scrapbooks of Labrador Retriever clippings from dog publications and one photo album, numerous loose photographs and slides of Labrador Retrievers. Photographs include win shots, candids, portrait and profile snapshots, puppies, photographs with children, and field hunting. Many of the photographs in this collection were considered or used for Dorothy Howe's book, root>

Box PH.1 includes candids and snapshots of Labrador Retrievers owned or bred by Dorothy Howe, many with identifying information notated on the photograph margins or versos. Box PH.3 folder 1 includes 5x7 size portraits and candid show photographs of various Labs of Rupert Kennels.
