Content Description

This collection consists of one compact disc containing three PDF files. The first file, "GWP correspondence Book 1," is 279 pages and contains records (mostly correspondence) related to developing the German Wirehaired Pointer Club's foundation stock for AKC breed registration in 1959. The PDF images include scans of some photographs, lists of dogs and owners, correspondence with the AKC, and breed standards. The second file, "GWP Pedigrees Book 2," is 390 pages and includes Provisional Applications for Registration of a German Wirehaired Pointer (Deutsch Drahthaar) forms, completed by owners with supporting documentation such as pedigrees and photographs of their dogs. The third file, "GWP Pedigrees Book 3," is 417 pages and is a continuation of Book 2.

Biographical Note

Genevieve Capstaff was a foundation breeder of German Wirehaired Pointers. There is a memorial chukar shoot held annually in her name by the German Wirehaired Pointer Club of Illinois.
