Scope and Contents This series consists of visual depictions, including scrapbooks, photographs, and video footage, of the DPCA's annual National Specialty shows. The annual scrapbooks and photograph compilations were created by DPCA and consist mostly of win shots with identifying information such as dog name, class, and placement. Includes objects and ephemera from the DPCA's National Specialty shows, such as trophies, medallions, pins and other items imprinted with the show logo, and signs. These items are a small representation of the trophies and other awards bestowed and keepsakes created by the DPCA for its National Specialty shows over the years.

Scope and Contents These materials consist mostly of photographs and video footage from Chapter Club Specialty shows. Also included are some show advertisements and medallions given as gifts to judges at such shows.The Doberman Pinscher Club of Houston file is a scrapbook also containing images from the Houston Kennel Club all-breed show, clippings, correspondence, and other materials documenting dog show culture in Southeast Texas. This group of materials includes catalogs and a news bulletin from dog shows held in Mexico, Australia, England, the Philippines, and Nassau, Bahamas. As noted in some of the catalogs, American DPCA members that were also dog show judges would occasionally travel to judge international Doberman Pinscher dog shows.

7.1 Marjorie "Maggie" Hilliard collection, c. 1920-1996

Scope and Contents Marjorie, a/k/a Maggie, Hilliard (1905-1993) of Michigan was a one-litter breeder (Hilmar), owner, exhibitor, judge, and rescuer of Doberman Pinschers since her family first brought Dobermans back from Europe in the late 1920s. Maggie was active in the DPCA, the DPC of Michigan, and Doberman rescue. Maggie's father was good friends with Glenn S. Scope and Contents Eleanor Houston (nee Hill) Carpenter was an early importer of Doberman Pinschers from Germany in the mid to late 1930s, including notable Dobermans Ch. Cherloc v. Raufelsen and Ch. Assy von Illerblick, and produced many champions as a breeder. Carpenter also wrote educational articles on Dobermans and was active in the DPCA and as a judge. Scope and Contents This small collection of documents, photographs, and objects regarding Ch. Luz v. Rodeltal appears to have been compiled by Nancy K. Heitzman, DPCA Archives Committee Chairperson, beginning circa 1980s. Luz was born in Germany in 1926, a grandson of Lux v.d. Blankenburg, one of Germany's all-time leading sires.
