Scrapbook. News clippings on Doberman Pinschers, other breeds, 1956-1984
Scope and Contents
This series includes scrapbooks, photographs, videos, and clippings about notable Doberman Pinschers and people involved in breeding, showing, handling, training, and owning them. These materials were compiled by DPCA and its members.
A sizeable collection of Doberman Pinscher photographs and image clippings were sorted by an unknown person alphabetically by the dog's name, although there are also miscellaneous and unsorted files. This is a good place to look for images of a particular Doberman if not noted by name elsewhere.
Also included are scrapbooks dedicated to specific Dobermans and people that were successful in the sport and left a lasting impression, including J. Monroe Stebbins, Jr. and George Rood, and Dobermans Ch. Marks-Tey's Hondo, Ch. Marks-Tey The Maverick, Ch. Quintessenz Arabesque, Ch. Storm's Pogo Nip of Kia Ora (Sultan), and others. There are also scrapbooks of Dobermans in Australia, DPCA Best of Breed winners beginning in 1939, and news clippings about Doberman Pinschers from sources such as Joanna Walker's emph>
Videos on DVDs include footage of well-regarded Dobermans Ch. Dictator v. Glenhugel, Ch. Emperor of Marienland, and others, as well as show footage of specific Dobermans. Broader themed videos created by the DPCA include "After They're Gone" and "A Century of Devotion." A meticulously compiled, handwritten journal of Doberman champions between 1955 and 1958, and handwritten memoirs of Ch. Gra-Lemor Demetrius vd Victor by owner Grace Moore are also in this collection.
More photographs, videos, and scrapbooks can be found in "7. Special Collections," "8. Educational videos and records," and "3. Dog Shows."
