These files consist of records created in the planning and execution of the DPCA's annual National Specialty shows. Planning documents may relate to show judge selection and balloting, expenses, promotional materials, awards, and other show logistics. Guest registers signed by DPCA members attending the show are included for most years. Registers may include guest's name, home address, chapter club affiliation, hotel room number, date of arrival, and whether the guest is a DPCA member. Also notable is a handbook, "Guidelines for Hosting the DPCA Convention and Specialty Show," prepared by the DPCA for Chapter Club hosts.

Rod and Margaret Carveth's extensive records from the 1967 National Specialty show planning stages include financial records, promotional materials, records regarding the preparation and printing of Premium Lists and Catalogs, judge selection and balloting, chapter club emblems for banner printing, and correspondence and receipts regarding trophy and show donations. Rod Carveth served as chairman of the 1967 National Specialty show.
