Materials Specific Details
A nearly identical print was described by an online dealer of antique books and maps as "a dry point etching from The Crafton Collection, 1931. Cobb's dry point process involved etching the image into a copper plate with a diamond or steel stylus. The stylus etches the line and also throws up a burr that is higher than the plate surface. The effect when inked is a soft look, which is what Cobb needed for his portraits of our furry friends." See http://sangrebooks.com/Map-View.cfm?MapId=1785 (accessed October 25, 2017).
