Scope and Contents Note From the Collection:

The meeting minutes date from the 1950s to the 2000s. Most are contained in the Chihuahua Club’s newsletter, which also detail regional Chihuahua dog shows. The publications include the parent club’s newsletter and regional club newsletters are the strongest part of the collection. Clippings document the breed in pop culture, chronicling for example the Taco Bell advertisement campaign with a Chihuahua and how it relates to the breed’s popularity in the mid-1990s.

Scope and Contents From the Series: Dog Shows encompasses records, catalogs, photographs, and awards related to dog shows, particularly the Chihuahua Club of America's National and Rotating Specialty shows. Catalogs from both shows, as well as post-1983 regional specialty catalogs, are included along with one Chihuahua specialty show catalog from Mexico. Scope and Contents From the Series: Club Administration encompasses club governance records and breed-related records. Club governance records include the club's incorporation documents, varying editions of the club's Constitution and Bylaws, tax and other financial records, the club historian's files, and club membership lists and applications.
