William ("Bill") T. Haines was a Doberman owner, exhibitor, handler, and breeder in the late 1950s-1960s through his Michigan kennel, Checkmate Kennels and co-breeder/co-owner Jack F. Hronek. Marjorie, a/k/a Maggie, Hilliard (1905-1993) of Michigan was a one-litter breeder (Hilmar), owner, exhibitor, judge, and rescuer of Doberman Pinschers since her family first brought Dobermans back from Europe in the late 1920s. Maggie was active in the DPCA, the DPC of Michigan, and Doberman rescue. Maggie's father was good friends with Glenn S.
