Also includes dog show catalogs, photographs, and video footage on VHS and DVD. Reserach files thoroughly document significant representatives of the breed, and its evolution in Japan and America.

The collection comprises 101 drawings made for the "Dog People" page of the AKC Gazette between 2007 and 2019. The Gazette published its first "Dog People" caricature in June 2007, and the page continues as a monthly feature as of this writing in January 2020. The John Ashbey collection of dog show photography contains win shots photographed by John Ashbey between the years of 1974 and 2003 [bulk: 1980 to 2002] at all-breed and specialty shows chiefly in the northeastern region of the United States, including Westminster Kennel Club, Montgomery County Kennel Club, and the AKC's own Centennial and Classic events.
