Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of numerous presentations by the ASDCA, Inc. to the American Kennel Club in connection with the club's efforts to obtain recognition of the breed between 1985 and 1997. These presentations include breed history and evidence the growth of the breed in the United States during this time. The collection includes club administrative records, such as Annual reports from the 1980s, lists of the club's directors and officers from 1970 to 1998, and correspondence between the club and the AKC, some of which attach versions of the club's Constitution and Bylaws. In addition, there are breed standards from the 1980s and 1990s and National Specialty premium lists and catalogs from 1983 to 2001 and a Judge's Education packet created by the club and AKC around 1995.
