These files consist of numerous pedigrees and correspondence shared between Dorothy Howe and various other Labrador Retriever breeders and owners. Occasionally, a corresponding photograph or news clipping is included. These records supplement Dorothy Howe's Rupert Kennels breeding records in Series 4, as they discuss possible breedings, health matters, breeding logistics, and show relationships among the breed's various kennels.

Files have been maintained in the order that they were kept by Dorothy Howe, which is mostly alphabetical by kennel or breeder name. Most files contain correspondence and pedigrees of one breeder/kennel, some include several kennels in one folder, while other files appear to contain records with no common correspondent or kennel. There are also some catch-all files, such as a file for Howe's correspondence with various kennels and breeders beginning with the letter "V," and files named by location of the kennel/breeder, such as "Irish" and "India." Because some files are not in a logical order position, it may be best to browse folder titles in this series if looking for a specific kennel or breeder.
