Sandra Goose Allen collection of Skye Terrier holiday cards

Sandra Goose Allen (d. 2013) established the renowned kennel Windflower Skye Terriers while also running a floral business with her husband Ray and contributing to numerous philanthropic causes. She became an AKC dog show judge in the 1970s, ultimately qualifying for the Sporting, Terrier, Toy, and Non-Sporting groups. She frequently judged at the Montgomery County Kennel Club all-terrier show, selecting Best in Show in 1993. She also judged the Terrier group at Westminster Kennel Club in 2003 and the Non-Sporting group in 2005. She was the recipient of an award from the Dog Writers Association of America for "A Study of the Scottish Terrier," named Judge of the Year by Dogs in Review in 2009, and presented an AKC Lifetime Achievement award in 2010. The AKC Library holds The Terrier Lover's Cookbook, compiled and edited by Allen. She also contributed to the Scottish Terrier Yearbook as well as the STCA's Judges Handbook, Judges Education Program and Bagpiper magazine. Goose-Allen was well-regarded throughout the purebred dog world for her warmth and kindness.
