The Luis Sosa collection of dog show photography contains approximately 235,000 color negatives for win shots taken between 1992 and 2001 at shows chiefly in the Gulf Coast region of the United States.

Present inventories provided by the creator pair negative numbers with show name, date, breed, and owner name.

Biographical note

Luis Sosa began to photograph professionally in the 1970s. His first official All-Breed Dog Show assignment was in 1974. He now photographs all-breed shows in 6 Southern States, as well as independent specialties. Luis taught photography at the University of New Orleans Community College for over a decade, and has had several gallery shows of his work across the South.

An active AKC judge and AKC delegate, Sosa is a member, and former officer and board member, of the French Bulldog Club of America. He and his wife Patti breed French Bulldogs, including many champions, under the prefix Bandog.
