7.3 John T. Brueggeman collection, 1930s-1981

Scope and Contents

Book 1 and 2 consist of documents and periodicals removed from two three-ring binders, including articles, correspondence, Illini Dobe Doings, an interview and article in Dobe World, and four photographs. The collection also includes pedigrees, registrations, awards, and photographs, especially of Dobermans from Von Der Heide Kennels, Reg., under which John and his wife Sally E. Brueggeman bred Doberman Pinschers. Finally, there is a framed print of an illustrated standard drawing by John Brueggeman. Also see "7.11 Larry and Shirley Clardy collection," which includes a Doberman head study painting attributed to John Brueggeman. This collection was donated by Sally Brueggeman to the DPCA.

Access Restrictions

Two document boxes comprising governance files and National Specialty records are restricted and inaccessible due to the presence of inactive mold. Please see the archivist for details. The rest of the This collection is open to research without restrictions.

From the Collection: 141.52 Linear Feet (170 boxes) : in 64 document boxes, 6 legal-sized boxes, 7 cartons, 56 flat photo/folder boxes, 2 photo album boxes, 5 DVD/CD boxes, 1 slide box, 33 oversize boxes of varying sizes.

Arrangement

Arranged chronologically, with the only exception being Book 1 precedes Book 2 in the arrangement despite Book 1 including material created at a later date than Book 2.
