Scope and Contents

Educational Materials consists mainly of videos created in the late 1980s to mid 1990s of seminars and interviews conducted by the Club. Seminar topics range from judging, stud dogs, diseases, and movement, while interviewees include Doberman handlers, breeders, and judges. Also included are charts, correspondence, and posters on Doberman anatomy, color inheritance, and breed standards. In 2003, various educational materials were compiled on CD to create a comprehensive resource for club members, a copy of which is in this series. Also of note is a dog genealogy chart that maps the evolution of dog breeds.

The bulk of this collection is in English. There are also some periodicals, books, and pedigrees in German.

Access Restrictions

Two document boxes comprising governance files and National Specialty records are restricted and inaccessible due to the presence of inactive mold. Please see the archivist for details. The rest of the This collection is open to research without restrictions.

From the Collection: 141.52 Linear Feet (170 boxes) : in 64 document boxes, 6 legal-sized boxes, 7 cartons, 56 flat photo/folder boxes, 2 photo album boxes, 5 DVD/CD boxes, 1 slide box, 33 oversize boxes of varying sizes.

Educational records are listed first in chronological order, followed by videos, also chronologically arranged. Undated materials are appended at the end.
