Eleanor Houston (nee Hill) Carpenter was an early importer of Doberman Pinschers from Germany in the mid to late 1930s, including notable Dobermans Ch. Cherloc v. Raufelsen and Ch. Assy von Illerblick, and produced many champions as a breeder. Carpenter also wrote educational articles on Dobermans and was active in the DPCA and as a judge.
